Mississippi Homeschool Support Groups
Homeschool support groups in your state are an excellent way to gain more assistance and guidance in your homeschooling endeavors. A regional support group fosters a wonderful sense of community among homeschooling families and allows for more opportunities to exchange ideas, plan group outings, and share in the overall experience of homeschooling! While Calvert supports the development of community among homeschool families, this list does not constitute affiliation between Calvert School and the groups represented below.
CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS CONNECTION (CHEC)
The purpose of CHEC is to support and encourage home educators by providing information and opportunities for fellowship both educational and social. Although CHEC is a Christian organization with Christian leadership, membership is open to all those in the local area wishing to homeschool their children.
Based in Olive Branch, MS, this is a community of homeschoolers whose goal is to develop relationships through homeschooling, but more importantly, deepen friendships that go beyond homeschooling. The purpose of this group is to be a support in all areas.
MISSISSIPPI HOME EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION (MHEA)
(MHEA) is a Christian homeschool organization established to provide information to those interested in home education in Mississippi and provide encouragement for excellence in this endeavor. It does so through conferences with speakers; workshops; and annual curriculum fairs. It also provides assistance to home educators in Mississippi in keeping the legal atmosphere for home educating positive by relating to area support groups any legislation that would change the present freedom.
PEAK's mission is to connect independent home educators through a network of inclusive local groups that encourage members to share resources, learn together, and build a diverse community.
