Arizona Homeschool Support Groups

Homeschool support groups in your state are an excellent way to gain more assistance and guidance in your homeschooling endeavors. A regional support group fosters a wonderful sense of community among homeschooling families and allows for more opportunities to exchange ideas, plan group outings, and share in the overall experience of homeschooling! While Calvert supports the development of community among homeschool families, this list does not constitute affiliation between Calvert School and the groups represented below.

ARIZONA FAMILIES FOR HOME EDUCATION (AFHE)
AFHE is a statewide organization that serves the needs and protects the rights of Arizona's homeschooling families. AFHE is a nonprofit educational corporation directed by a Christian board. AFHE membership is open to all homeschooling parents in Arizona.

CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS OF COCHISE COUNTY (CHECC)
CHECC is a group of parents who love their children enough to educate them at home and want to share ideas and collaborate on events with other homeschool families.  We host group events such as field trips, spelling bees, enrichment classes, history, science fairs and sports teams. We help coordinate classes for people to share specific knowledge and talents such as gardening, cooking, art, and science.

DESERT HILLS CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOLERS (DHCH)
DHCH, established in 1986, is one of the oldest homeschool support groups in Arizona. It serves the areas of New River, Desert Hills, Cave Creek, Black Canyon City, Anthem, Tramonto, and North Phoenix. DHCH families consist of both new and experienced homeschoolers with children of all ages, from babies to teens. The DHCH leadership consists of husband and wife teams, and fathers are encouraged to participate.

EASTSIDE EXPLORERS
Eastside Explorers is a cooperative support group that lends support to homeschooling families within the Scottsdale, North Phoenix, Anthem, Carefree, Cave Creek, and Fountain Hills areas.
Eastside Explorers is led by a Christian board of directors that govern within a framework of Judeo-Christian values.  All group activities are coordinated by group members.  Each member is expected to offer time and individual gifts and experience in order to continually create a vibrant and growing group. The amount and scope of activities offered are completely dependent upon volunteer participation.

INDIGO HOME LEARNERS
Indigo Home Learners welcomes everyone to its group who is willing to be open-minded and allow others to be who they are without judgment. Within Indigo we welcome people of all religions, races, family makeup, sexual orientation, homeschooling methods, and curricula. We do not like to say we are a secular group because for many homeschooling families, their faith is a large reason for homeschooling. We as parents accept the opportunity and responsibility to teach our own children about differences and the appreciation of them.

SUMMIT VIEW
Summit View was founded in October 1999. We are a secular parent-run homeschool cooperative that spans the entire Phoenix metropolitan area. We began in the East Valley, but are spreading, with groups all over the Valley. We have no religious affiliation whatsoever. The principles of character and integrity are emphasized and encouraged. The idea is that parents can pool their resources and talents to expose their children to fun and educational group activities and events. It's all about enjoying learning, networking with other parents, and giving our kids unique experiences that a larger group affords.
